9 Tips to Build Your Brand Online



The internet is a huge market which makes for intense competition to get those eyeballs for your business, because of such cut throat competition we need to follow a consistent and a right approach to get the trust of our customers. Before we start putting our focus on the action plan to do it, we first need to understand branding.
In simple words, it is a consistent process of establishing yourself or your company in the mind of your audience in a correct and intellectual way that will ultimately result in an increase in profit. Here are some tips to start your branding campaign :

  1. Understanding your customer: This is the most essential part of your branding campaign. The more you know your customer the more effective you can be in your campaign. Once you have the information about your audience,  for example, their age group, likes, behavior, etc., you can understand their needs better. With that you can know the right moment to bring in your product/service when they are most likely looking for it.
  2. Associate an idea : As I said earlier, branding is associating an idea with your product or service. Take a look around and you can easily identify an idea in each successful branding campaign. Take Mcdonald’s and their slogan, “I’m lovin’ it”,Bank of America’s “High Standards”, or BMW’s “The ultimate driving machine”. The list is endless!
  3. Understand the difference between marketing and branding : As an owner your primary goal is to sell your product or service, but don’t focus your branding campaign on this. Branding is more about establishing the trust in the product or service, not selling it.
  4. Choose the right social media : Many times people suggest to use social media to promote the brand. This is of course a right step, but choosing the right social media for your product/service is also important. For example, if you have a restaurant business and you start promoting your menu on Linkedin, chances are it might not be that effective. On the contrary, if you choose right social media and promote it on facebook you might get a great response.
  5. Show your personality : Business is done between real people and not organizations. So don’t hide yourself, be more approachable. This is one of the most effective ways of building trust with your customers.
  6. Invest in the content : Make engaging content by using more pictures and videos. Encourage your clients to give feedback and make sure to ask questions. Make people feel that they are a part of your brand.
  7. Take up blogging : This is the most powerful and effective way to promote traffic to your website and establish your brand. This is a great way to personalize the whole branding campaign and take people’s feedback. Use images and videos in your blog to make it more interactive and fun to look at and read!
  8. Be Consistent : Consistency is paramount for any branding campaign. It can be done in various ways like visual (logo), username (brand name) and voice (humorous, professional) consistency. Depending on your business you can define your approach, but it has to be consistent so that your audience can associate with it. Branding is about establishing trust and not selling to a single person.
  9. Create a video : A video is worth up to sixty web pages on the internet! It is a great idea to create a short explainer video for your brand.
